So, this arrived yesterday:



I am now a happy Die Sterne 2.0 owner (It's on severe backorder right now in Japan, chances are that the book will come with a high markup on online stores). The book is amazing.
Water was a good choice (you can't actually go wrong with Inoue), but the several white pages and some small images on a oversized artbook bugged me a little.
Urushihara is the MANGOD, so every book of him is special.
Tsubasa, I don't like it so much (the manga), but the illustration are superb.

Yes, it is out, and selling pretty well, I guess. It seems that the majority of the FSS 2 are brand-new illustrations (based on a short review posted a few days ago at the artbook discussion on mirc).

Sorry for the wrong photo, but that book is actually Saiunkoku Monogatari fan book (I was trying to pick the Fate/Saty Night cover, but that one comes instead).

It's a new release also, so is wasn't that bad after all...(I think )

* Ryu-Kotsu est le nom de l'art-book de Tanaka Kunihiko prévu pour novembre, et qui devrait inclure 475 illustrations (dont 205 en couleurs) tirées entre autre de ses travaux sur Key the Metal Idol, Xenogears, Xenosaga, ou Fam & Ihrie Ruin Explorers, ainsi qu'un manga inédit de 16 pages Nigatsu no kouryou . Le livre devrait faire 197 pages en tout, et coutera 6090 yen.

About the Tanaka artbook, glad that he is releasing a solo book, but it's quite expensive (for me, anyway) and I already have the Xenogears Perfect Works and the Xenosaga Ep. 1 Design Works. Gonna wait some reviews. It is a Mangaoh exclusive?

I know someone who will be greatly interested in the Mugen art-book...

As for the Tanaka art-book I don't see why it should be an Mangaoh exclusivity, they just tend to open theirs preorder a bit earlier than amazon. According to rakuten the isbn is 9784829176719, we will just have to keep our eyes open for it
And yes, it's way more expensive than your average art-book, but there is a plastic case to protect it ! But yes, I really hope the euro/yen rate will be as favorable in november as it is now or it will hurt ^^

You have the perfect works ? Lucky you ! I didn't purchase it at the time and have been regretting it ever since... ^^

It was 8 years ago, but I remember if was yesterday. But it opened my eyes for the wonderful world of art books.

I don't have many art-book - around 130 at last count, i guess. I try not to buy too much stuff for the small space I live in, but from time to time I fall in a buying frenzy, especially when I stay a little too long in the discount section of jpqueen

My very first art-book was a 'This is animation' about Macross Plus, and one of those I'm the most pround of being Nobuteru Yuki's Five Star stories shuusei genga shuu

I will try to take some pictures of my art-book racks in the coming days - for what it's worth. But please do post yours ^^

I still have many, many art-books to buy before being satisfied with my collection... I have only one Amano art-book, for instance. It's a disgrace
